La lotta al digital divide segna un punto a proprio favore: sara' possibile connettersi alla rete, finora non accessibile, con tecnologia wireless broadband in un'area cui fanno capo 24 comuni appartenenti all'area Alto Lario Occidentale e Tremezzina, un'estensione di circa 280 kmq per una popolazione di circa 24.000 abitanti.
Il target principale dell'operazione e' costituito sia dalla popolazione turistica sia da realta' locali quali i Comuni, la Polizia, la Protezione civile, le aziende e le associazioni. Il progetto è realizzato da Enter, operatore di telecomunicazioni indipendente, in raggruppamento con Ibax, societa' che realizza soluzioni ICT di e-government. "

Schmidt World Tour 2006: backpacking around the globe: "We came to find that Menaggio was ideally situated on the lake. From the dock in town, we could take a short ferry to the towns of Varenna or Bellagio in less than a half hour. Kayak on the lake, bike rental, hiking, sailing, etc is al available in town. A really great spot, and because it's a bit removed from the town of Como, it was relatively unspoilt by hordes of other tourists. I think I could live in this place, with the proximity to the mountains and the beautiful lake below, and I think that Samantha could be convinced... hmmmm..."

We got here, but only after meeting up with the most demonstrative Italian fella who thought by talking slowly and loudly in Italian that we’d figure out what he meant, which we never did. But, we did figure out to keep going straight and straight we did — and got up here to a beautiful place.
